The Imperial Art Alliance (IAA) is a nonprofit organization devoted to promoting the visual arts in the Sugar Land and surrounding areas. Since its founding by Elaine Fuller in 1983, the IAA has become well known in the community through its various art shows, competitions, workshops and demonstrations. Membership in the IAA provides local artists of all ages and skill levels with opportunities to develop artistic talent, skills, and a forum to share and learn different mediums, show and sell your work, network with other local artists and form lasting friendships.
In June we got together at Los Gallitos restaurant on Hwy 6 in Sugar Land to celebrate the year...and the history.
Sadly, June 17, 2023 was the final gathering of the Imperial Art Alliance.
Our membership numbers, and the number of people willing to volunteer, never bounced back after the COVID shut down. We are all proud to have been part of the 40-year history of this group that began as the Sugar Land Area Artists.
It was great to see lots of old friends at that final luncheon.
