Sherri Allen - Mixed Media Still Life

Demo and Workshop Description:
     Students will be guided through the process of making a one-of-a-kind still life painting with collage, acrylic paint and other media. We will start with a fun exercise to unlock our creativity and then dive into the playful process of layering paint, papers and other media to make a unique still life that reflects your individual style! Students are encouraged to bring interesting vases, bowls, fruit,  and other objects for inspiration.

Supplies that will be provided:
*Paint, papers, various mediums for adhering the collage
 *Various mark making tools such as: posca pens, water soluble pencils and crayons, oil pastels and more
 *Participants should bring:
 *8x10 canvas
 *Several different size paint brushes including at least one larger brush (1 inch)
 *Inspiration items - vases, bowls, fruit, flowers
Optional items to bring:
   Paint and papers will be provided but you are welcome to bring any of your favorite supplies – paints, papers, posca pens, water soluble crayons – Anything you love to work with!
    All levels welcome! This is a beginner friendly class as well as useful for the seasoned art maker who wants a creativity boost! No matter what your level – this is going to be fun and you will create an amazing painting that you love!

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sherri is a mixed media artist in Houston who loves faces, flowers and lots of color! Sherri found art during the covid lock down and her life has not been the same!
