Demo | 10 a.m. to Noon Using Polychromos Colored Pencils by Faber Castell. Workshop | 1 to 4 p.m. Description: Doors of Europe - 18 Students Maximum Step outside industry standard and learn Wendy Layne’s drawing techniques using Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils to turn pictures of doors taken in Europe into beautiful watercolor paintings. Learn how to approach a photo of a door and to convert the photo to an interesting composition. Learn to blend and create beautiful gradient colors with ease using Faber Castell’s professional Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils. All pencils and paper are included for workshop students to keep. ABOUT THE ARTIST
Wendy Layne was born in 1967 and currently resides in The Woodlands, Texas. She is an artist and author of Beyond the Present, A Memoir by Wendy Layne. Wendy is a wife and mother of five children and grandmother of four boys. Wendy describes her talent as a natural inherited ability and her artwork as passionately capturing the beautiful process of life into a timeless reminder to enjoy for a lifetime and pass on to future generations. While art has always been an important part of her life, raising a family was a priority and for many years she created in a small corner of her bedroom very late at night while her children slept. As her children have grown she now describes an overwhelming pull to create and her home now includes a 200 square foot art studio. She is experienced with watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, collage, and sculpting with clay, however after discovering her natural ability with colored pencils in September of 2014, they are now her preferred medium. Wendy’s goal is to spend the rest of her life deeply immersed in the art community inspiring other artists and art enthusiast with her work
